Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BigQ Studio ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use GPS Speedometer: Speed Monitor ("the App"), a GPS speedometer for Android that shows your current speed, trip time, distance and speed limit alerts, a head-up display (HUD) mode, and a history of your trips.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
In short:
- Your location is used on your device to measure speed and record trips. We do not upload your GPS location or your trip history to our servers.
- Your trip history is stored only on your device and is deleted when you delete a trip or uninstall the App.
- The App shows ads and uses Google/Firebase services for analytics and crash reports. These services collect device identifiers and usage data.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect and Why
1.1 Location
The App asks for precise or approximate location (Android permissions ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION). Location is needed to calculate your speed, distance and trip duration, to show your route on the map, and to warn you when you exceed your speed limit.
- Location is processed on your device while a trip is running. A foreground notification is shown while the App tracks a trip.
- When you finish a trip, the start and end points are turned into street addresses using the Android geocoding service (provided by Google), and the trip is saved on your device.
- The map in the App is provided by Google Maps, which receives the map area being displayed.
- We do not upload your GPS location or trip routes to our servers and do not use them for advertising.
1.2 Trip History (stored on your device)
Each saved trip contains the date, duration, distance, average and maximum speed, and start/end addresses and coordinates. This data stays in a local database on your device. You can delete trips in the App, and all of them are removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
1.3 Settings and Preferences
Your speed unit, speed limit, warning sound, theme and language choices are stored on your device.
1.4 Device and Usage Information
To run, measure and improve the App, the following is collected automatically:
- Device model, Android version, app version, language, country and screen resolution.
- App interactions (screens viewed, buttons used, session length), crash logs and performance data.
- Identifiers: Android Advertising ID (where allowed by your settings), Firebase installation ID and an app-generated user ID.
- Approximate country/region derived from your IP address.
- A push-notification token, used to send you app notifications.
1.5 Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through Google Play. We never receive your payment card details. We receive the product purchased, the purchase token and order status, which we use (together with the app version and the identifiers above) to unlock Premium features, restore purchases and prevent fraud.
1.6 Feedback You Send
If you send feedback in the App, we receive what you enter (name, email address, feedback type and message), an optional screenshot you attach, and technical details (app version, device ID and, if relevant, a crash log). We use this only to answer you and fix problems.
2. Permissions Used by the App

You can change permissions in your device settings at any time. Speed measurement does not work without location.
3. Advertising
The free version of the App shows ads (banner, native, interstitial, app open and rewarded video ads) served by Google AdMob and its mediation partner Pangle. These services may collect your Advertising ID, IP address, device information and ad interactions to show, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud.
Where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice later from Settings > Privacy Policy in the App, and you can opt out of personalized ads in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads or Settings > Privacy > Ads). Premium subscribers do not see ads.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses these services, each under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform – policies.google.com/privacy

- Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config and Cloud Messaging – firebase.google.com/support/privacy

We also run our own servers (BigQ Studio) that receive install information (device model, Android version, country, app version, Advertising ID, install referrer), purchase records, push tokens and feedback, as described in section 1.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- with the service providers listed above, to run, analyze and monetize the App;
- with Google Play, to process and verify purchases;
- when required by law or to protect our rights, users or the security of the App;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or transfer of the App.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Trip history and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Analytics data is kept by Firebase for the retention period set in our Firebase project (2 to 14 months); crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide Premium features and meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Feedback is kept as long as needed to handle your request.
To ask us to delete data linked to your device (install report, purchase records, push token, feedback), email [email protected] with the user ID shown in the App under Settings > Personalization. We will reply within 30 days.
7. Security
Data sent between the App and our servers or service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Contact us at [email protected] to make a request.
10. International Transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the "Last Updated" date above and, for important changes, may also tell you in the App. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept it.
