This Privacy Policy explains how BigQ Studio ("BigQ Studio", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares, stores and deletes information when you use the Say It On Beat: Challenge mobile app (package name com.bigq.saythewordonbeat, the "App"). It also explains exactly what we do with the information we receive when you choose to sign in with Google.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
1. Summary
- You can play the App without an account. Signing in with Google is optional and is only used to take part in challenge events and their leaderboard.
- When you sign in with Google we receive only your name, email address and profile picture. We do not ask for access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data.
- Your voice is processed on your device to check the words you say during a game. Audio is not uploaded to our servers.
- Videos you record in the App are created and saved on your device. We do not upload them.
- We do not sell your personal information and we never use Google user data for advertising.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to [email protected].
2. Information we collect
2.1 Google Sign-In (optional)
The App offers "Sign in with Google" through the Android Credential Manager. If you choose to sign in, Google shares the following basic profile information with the App, using only the basic sign-in scopes openid, userinfo.email and userinfo.profile:
- your Google account name (display name);
- your Google account email address;
- the URL of your Google profile picture;
- a Google ID token that confirms the sign-in. The token is used on your device to complete the sign-in and is not stored on our servers.
We do not request any other Google scopes and we cannot read your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, contacts or calendar.
2.2 Challenge events and leaderboard
When you are signed in and play a challenge event, the App sends the following to our leaderboard server (api-leaderboard.bigqstudio.com, operated by BigQ Studio):
- your display name (your Google name, or the name you edit in the App);
- your email address, used only as the identifier of your leaderboard entry so that your score follows you to a new phone;
- the link to your Google profile picture, stored with your entry;
- a user ID created by our server, the event and challenge name, your score and rank;
- your country (see section 2.5) and the sign-in method.
2.3 Reward claims (optional)
If you win a prize in an event and choose to claim it, the App asks for your first name, last name, email address and phone number, and sends them to our server together with your user ID, score and the reward you won. We use this information only to verify your result and deliver the reward.
2.4 Voice, camera and videos
- Microphone: during a game the App listens to the words you say and recognises them with Google ML Kit speech recognition that runs on your device. Audio is not sent to BigQ Studio.
- Camera: in "Try With Camera" mode the App shows your front camera and records your round. The video is processed on your device and, when you tap Save, stored in your phone's Movies folder. We do not upload it; it leaves your device only if you share it yourself.
- Photos and media: when you build a custom challenge you can pick pictures from your gallery. They are used on your device and are not uploaded.
2.5 Feedback and support (optional)
If you send feedback from the App's "Feedback" screen, we receive the name, email address, message and optional screenshot you provide, together with the App name and version, a device identifier, a Firebase messaging token and, for bug reports, a crash log. Screenshots are uploaded to our server so we can see the problem. We use this only to answer you and fix the issue.
2.6 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system version, language, App version, screens viewed, features used and session times, collected through Google Analytics for Firebase.
- Country: the first time you open the App, it reads your public IP address (using the ipify service) and sends it to our geolocation service to find your country, which is saved on your device and used for content, prices and the leaderboard. We do not store your IP address for this purpose.
- Crash and performance data: crash reports, error logs and performance traces collected through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring.
- App integrity and configuration: Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity confirms that requests come from a genuine copy of the App, and Firebase Remote Config delivers App settings.
- Notifications: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, linked to a random App user ID, is sent to our server so we can send event and App notifications.
- Install and advertising data: the Google Play Install Referrer (how you found the App), the App Set ID, the Android Advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, and ad interactions, collected by us and our advertising partners (see section 5).
- Purchase data: if you subscribe to Premium, Google Play provides the product ID and a purchase token. The App sends them to our server, together with the App version, Advertising ID and Firebase Analytics instance ID, to verify the purchase and unlock Premium. We never receive your payment card details.
3. How we use information
- To run the game, sync challenge events and show the leaderboard.
- To identify your leaderboard entry and restore your score when you sign in again.
- To verify winners and deliver rewards.
- To send event notifications, which you can turn off in your phone's settings.
- To provide Premium features and manage subscriptions.
- To show ads and measure ad performance (users without Premium).
- To fix crashes, improve performance and prevent fraud or cheating.
- To answer your support requests and to meet legal obligations.
4. How we use Google user data
The name, email address and profile picture we receive from Google Sign-In are used only to:
- sign you in and show your name and picture in the App;
- create and identify your entry on the challenge event leaderboard and restore your score on another device;
- contact you about a reward you won, if you claim one.
We do not:
- sell Google user data or transfer it to data brokers;
- use or transfer Google user data for advertising, retargeting or interest-based ads;
- share Google user data with advertising or analytics partners;
- use Google user data to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes;
- use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models;
- let any person read your Google user data, except with your consent, for security reasons, to comply with law, or to deliver a reward you asked for.
Only your display name, score and rank are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Your email address and profile picture are not displayed to other players.
Limited Use. Say It On Beat: Challenge's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Sharing and third-party services
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers that run the App for us: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, App Check and Cloud Messaging), the ipify IP lookup service, and our own servers operated by BigQ Studio.
- Advertising partners, for users who do not have Premium: Google AdMob, AppLovin MAX, Meta Audience Network, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay), Unity Ads, Mintegral and Pangle. They receive device and advertising data as described in section 2.6. They never receive your Google account data.
- Google Play, which processes subscriptions and payments, Play Integrity checks and in-app review prompts.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or government request, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and of BigQ Studio.
- Business transfer: if BigQ Studio is involved in a merger or sale of assets, information may be transferred under the same protections described in this policy.
Each partner handles data under its own privacy policy, for example Google, AppLovin, Meta, Unity / ironSource, Mintegral and Pangle.
6. Your choices
- Play without signing in. Google Sign-In is never required to play the standard challenges.
- Sign out at any time from the challenge screen. Signing out removes your Google name, email and picture from the App on your device.
- Revoke access to the App from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Permissions: you can allow or deny camera, microphone, photos and notifications in your phone's settings. Some features will not work without them.
- Ads: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Android Settings → Google → Ads, or remove ads entirely with Premium. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the App asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Data stored only on your device (your Google profile in the App, custom challenges and voice processing) stays on your device and is deleted when you sign out, clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Videos you saved to your Movies folder stay there until you delete them.
- Feedback messages and screenshots are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on reported problems.
- Leaderboard entries (display name, email, profile picture link, user ID, score and country) are kept while an event is running and for up to 12 months afterwards so that results and rewards can be verified, then deleted.
- Reward claim details are kept only as long as needed to deliver the reward and meet accounting or legal requirements, and no longer than 24 months.
- Crash and analytics data are kept according to the retention settings of Firebase (up to 90 days for Crashlytics).
To delete your data, email [email protected] from the email address you used to sign in, with the subject "Delete my data – Say It On Beat". We will delete your leaderboard entries, reward claim data and feedback within 30 days and confirm by email.
8. Security
All communication between the App and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to our servers is limited to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law.
9. Children
The App is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Google Sign-In and reward claims are intended for users aged 13 or older (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
BigQ Studio is based in Vietnam, and our service providers may process data in other countries. When we transfer data, we take steps to make sure it remains protected as described in this policy.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for using them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for important changes, let you know in the App.
